These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Trader Sum (the "App"), a trading journal application. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.
Trader Sum lets you log and review your own trading activity, and includes supporting tools: a currency converter, a futures position-size calculator, and a simplified tax estimate. All data you enter is stored locally on your device — the App does not operate a server that stores your trade data.
Trader Sum is a personal record-keeping and estimation tool. Nothing in the App — including the win-rate statistics, position-size calculator, or Taxes tab — constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. The Taxes tab produces a simplified estimate only; it does not account for wash sales, Section 1256 treatment, your other income, or your specific filing situation. Always confirm tax and investment decisions with a qualified professional before acting on them.
Account credentials and all trade data you enter are stored locally in your device's browser/app storage. There is no central account system — if you uninstall the App, clear your device's app data, or switch devices without exporting first, your data cannot be recovered. Use the CSV export features in the App to keep your own backups.
Certain features may require a paid subscription, billed and processed through Apple's App Store in accordance with Apple's own terms. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and are managed through your Apple ID account settings, not within the App. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's refund policies — Trader Sum does not process payments or issue refunds directly.
You agree not to misuse the App, including attempting to reverse-engineer it beyond what applicable law permits, interfere with its operation, or use it for any unlawful purpose.
The App may use third-party services to function, including Google Sign-In (optional, for login) and a third-party currency exchange-rate provider. Your use of those features is also subject to those providers' own terms and privacy practices.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Trader Sum does not guarantee the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that calculations (including tax and position-size estimates) will be accurate for your specific circumstances.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trader Sum and its developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or trading losses, arising from your use of or inability to use the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or discontinue the App or any feature at any time.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and, where applicable to you as a resident, the applicable federal and provincial laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If you are a Canadian resident, nothing in these Terms limits any consumer-protection rights available to you under Canadian law that cannot be waived by agreement.
